My 06 Classic with a PCIII, Sampson Rolled Thunder, Hi Flow & 203 Cam,threw an engine code last night. I pulled it this morning & it was "P0118 ET Sensor Voltage Open/High EFI."
Reset it & took it for a short ride & no code.
Any thoughts or advice on this.
Spent the day yesterday at the All Harley Drags & will be going back this morning. About a 100 mile ride for me. I'm hoping this engine code was a fluke & nothing serious, cause I'm riding today....
Went okay going to the dragstrip and made several short trips without a problem but it was hotter outside when I headed home. About ten miles into the ride it was on for a couple of minutes & went off. At about 15 miles it came on & stayed on...
Guess I'll call the dealership tomorrow..
alazlo,
According to my 06 Dyna Electrical Diagnostic Manual it could be a bad ET sensor, a bad ECM, or an openin the PK/Y signal wireor the BK/Wwire. I'd also chech the connector to be sure it's not the issue.
This was to easy.... Called the tech this morning, told him my problem. He didn't even have to look it up. ... he advised that the engine temp sensor is on the left side on the back of the front head, behind the horn. It has a rubber boot. The boot makes it hard to secure the electrical connector. He said give it a light pull, if it comes off, the connector wasn't pushed all the way in at the factory and it's worked its way loose.
Did what he said & that was the problem. You have to pull the horn off to get at it well enough to secure the connection but a 5 minute fix, reset the code & I'm on my way.
