I have an 07 Street Glide. I want to get rid on the front and rear turn signals so I'm guessing the security system has to go. Has anyone removed one before? I don't know if it is as simple as replacing the TSSM(turn signal security module) with a TSM(turn signal module). Anybody have any input on the matter?
Not sure about the technical aspects but I am wondering where would it be legal to operate your bike without turn signals? I thought they were a legal requirement.
If you remove the tssm module and replace it with a tsm you will have to have a dealer reconfigure the ecm on their diagnostic machine. It will imobilize the ecm and will not run.
It also worksthe same way if you try to install a HD security system. Been through this myself.
Although you could do it the way I did. Drive bike to dealer, remove seat in his parking lot and remove module and install the module you want. Takes about 60 seconds. Then push bike into service dept and say make it run for me. Costs aboutone hour labor.
Hope this helps!
If you look in your owners manual, there are instructions on how to de-activate the security system. Your dealer should have given you a code to do this.
