02 softail carbureted, engine dies intermittently

Did you check the connections at the switch itself? I got corrosion on mine and had to clean the male and change the female spade terminals. It would spontaneously die while riding and I would have to click on and off to get it to run again. Did it in the middle of a tight turn once and puckered me up nice!

Have you solved this
My 2001 fatboy is doing exact same thing!! Ive checked everthing. Put a used tsm and ign module on it, a new crsnk sensor snd still same thing. I found if you pull the security fuse while its running it wont ever shut off but that kills the start switch and you cant restart unless put fuse back in.

I have narrowed it down i think, there is a circuit breaker behind a plastic panel inside the fender in front of the rear wheel and this is also where the security module is, i inspected the breaker (30 amp) and found it had some corrosion so i went ahead and replaced it but have yet to go on a ride to see if that fixed it however, if it did not fix it i think its the security module itself which is about $200, i got all this info from a former HD mechanic of 30+ years, he also said to replace the battery in the fob and arm and disarm the security system a few times, i will post the results when i test it out which may be this weekend depending on weather.

With our symptoms I doubt its the breaker or lights would go out too. Im beginning to think i got a bad used tssm doin same as originsl one. Fire it up while its running pull security fuse and see if it dies. Mine will stay runnin and not shut off with it pulled. But if you stick it back in while its runnin it will kill engine and then cycle kill switch and fire right back up till shuts off again.
