sert problem

sert problem

Good afternoon all, having problems with sert. when I hook up to bike I have key on run switch etc. when I push for get ecm info it brings up vin#, ecm p/n and present cal ID I have the new cal map file for loading when I try to program it goes to 20% then says cannot program if problem persists contact your hd dealer. any ideas I have vista which I have heard causes problems my wife loaded xp for the sert to run on is this the problem if so her laptop has xp.will that help?

Try the WinXP laptop. Also are you using a USB to serial port adapter? If so I'd get the Belkin one, as others have been known to cause issues as well.

grabbin my SERT friday the 20th
as someone earlier said if ur runnin vista SOL
update the sert proggy 1st
then try again

I had the same exact problem using a usb adapter ran the sert with a computer with a real serial port and had no problems at all.

Just went through the Vista nightmare with mine...Same exact issue as you had!!!

Use XP and you will be fine!

Get away from vista.

I had trouble with a usb to serial adapter. Did the same thing. Got the belkin and went right through.
