Anyone else had a TTS interface break?
So while re-autotuning one of my bikes the whole 9 pin end broke off the older blue interface. It had never been under stress or abused. I had it taped to the RH crash bar. Now that bike is unusable with an autotuning map loaded. I understand the TTS locks the ECM to where the only way you can access is with another TTS. This can't happen often and i have never heard of it. I don't know what the resolution might be and TTS has had the interface for a couple of weeks to see if they could repair it, still haven't heard from them. It's quite an expensive loss as it is the two bike model. Anyone else ever heard of this?

We have been using the same setup (9 pin connector) for over 20+ years and have not had one break. So yours would be the first one, so something more has happened to the unit than were being told. For numbers, thats over 1 million units sold built this way, so it been very robust in the field. Your bike can be ridden just fine with the tune that's in it, as there is no such thing as Auto tuning. What is really happening is the ECM is sending information out and the interface is recording it. All that is done during vtuning is to extend the closed loop operation to get a better sample of data used for fuel corrections and to limit the learned Knock retard. While it may run slightly warmer everything should be just fine provided the instructions were followed.

Actually i got a call from TTS today and they are going to try to fix it. I hope all goes well and i much appreciate them trying. I did spray the outside of it off once with carb cleaner when it got greasy from greasy hands but didn't soak it or anything. It left it looking pretty bad so i may have contributed to it's downfall. It had always been a little loose in the housing but i just assumed they were all that way(and they may be). Yes the bike still runs fine in closed loop but it's a built 110 and i didn't want to risk any heat issues with temps in the upper 90's here. Now on the other hand i did buy it second hand unused so who knows what it went through before i got it. There may have been a reason i got it for half price. LOL

It's a very old unit as it was first used back in the end of 2012, and it's production date will be determined once it get fixed enough to see if it still works.
