Default Check engine light after cam install

24 rg 117. Recently installed 534 cam + fueling Lifters. Pv tune from FM. Previously had se 511 cam. Reused se adjustable pushrods.

after putting it back together it started right up all good. About 5 minutes of idle it went to 1 cylnder...i believe, ce light and code p230400 is coming up on powervision. I cant see a code in the skyline display. Seems to be an electrical code coils or plug related ?

Ive checked all the wires and coil pug that has been problematic for others. Its snowy here so I haven't ridden the bike in a couple months..but i did start it and drive it on the lift before doing the work. Its hard to conclude that this problem doesn't have something to do with the cam install...but im not sure.

The problem is very intermittent and has not happened untill after the bike is started for a few minutes. Yesterday I started and ran it several times with fans in the garage and it didn't happen at all. Today it happens after started for a few minutes. Bike is in a heated garage. Also a most of times it dropped to 1 cylinder for 10 15 seconds then went back to normal idle.

My next guess is to readjust the pushrods maybe I messed that up ? But everything I've read about the code and the few people I talked to local lead me to think its a wiring/plug/coil issue. Any input is appreciated.

First thing i'd try is putting the old map back in to see if it cures it. Easy peasy quick test.

That P2304 code is specific to the #4 coil's electrical circuit. Since it's intermittent and heat-related, you disturbed a failing connection during the cam work. The #4 coil connector (rear lower) is a classic failure point. Check it for loose or corroded pins and cracked wires. Also check the main harness behind the heads for damage. Swap the coil with another cylinder to see if the fault follows it. This is almost certainly a pre-existing wiring issue you uncovered.

I was hopeful as I started off on the old tune waiting for the new tune. I initially thought that was my issue. Now that im thinking about the tune I will also confirm i selected the correct tune. Thanks

Just to follow up on this issue. I changed my cam near the end of winter after the bike had been parked 2-3 months. I believe my issue had to do with putting to much seafoam in at the beginning of winter..and or high humidity in my garage while having the bike apart for several weeks while I waited for parts. Once I actually rode the bike and changed out the fuel I haven't had any issues.
