2013 Heritage stalling issue
I have a 2013 Heritage that idles fine upon cold starts and runs strong when I ride it. However, as soon as I approach a stop (i.e., downshift to 1st and pull in the clutch lever) the engine quickly stalls out. It's almost like it ran out of gas or stopped getting spark. It starts right back up, and I can continue to ride so long as I manage the throttle to keep the revs a little higher than normal at stop lights.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Thx!

I think it's located somewhere near the back of transmission. If the
sensor isn't working, the speedo won't work either.

DOES IT HAVE AN AFTERMARKET TUNER. IF SO, ONLY SIMPLE BELOW PROBABLY APPLY.
I had the same exact condition. Filled up going to work. Coming home, I had to keep it running with throttle when stopping.
It was the fuel.
Start with simple and eliminate them..
How is the maintenance record? Up to date? Any engine diagnostic codes.
I would start with above? Then I would syphon all the fuel and replace it before getting into serious diagnostic checking.
Are you capable of that after simple? How many miles on bike? PS..Crank sensor, MAP, Air temperature and speed sensor throws codes.
Fuelpump pressure, temperature sensor, TPS, and IAC usually don't. The IAC will if it catches it off 200 for 5 seconds but it usually dies to quick if it's lazy. Usually cleaning doesn't help if motor is fowled.

MAP sensor code (can't remember the exact code) so went ahead and replaced the MAP sensor with a cheap ($14) sensor just to see if the problem went away. Problem still there, but no code.
U0141 code suggesting wiring issues from left handlebar. Nothing changed on bike so not a "mechanic error" but could certainly be one of those wires. So I'll need to pull wiring a bit and check.
IAC seems to be working properly, cycles as expected. Fuel pump running but haven't checked the pressure yet. Probably should be next step.
Any other thoughts appreciated.
Bike belongs to a buddy who is selling cause his shoulders aren't letting him ride much anymore so the sooner we can get it diagnosed and fixed the sooner he can get it out of his garage.
