Looking for some spark plug suggestions (2007 FLHX) other then HD plugs. I run Denso's in one of my cars and was wondering if anyone has tryed these in the bikes?
Any other input would be appreciated.
I use Autolite as a rule. HD plugs are OK too. Denso? - I don't go looking for a substitute just for substitutings sake since they may or may not be totally correct for the engines' performance. Japanese plugs are probably fine though....
I've used HD, NGK, Champion, and Autolite plugs in my 90, 03 and 07.
No codes thrown, no problems. Perfectly happy with an Autolite direct cross in all three.. The 03 was a 110hp/115tq softail.
IMHO plugs work or don't work. About $1.50ea. for Autolites, replace once a year.
Thought you were asking for input, not approval....Hell, you can use a stick with a nail in it if it makes you happy!
I'm not so sure where Autolites and Champions are made being a supposed USA product, but I definitely know where Denso's come from. I bought a Harley Davidson - American product not a Japanese....'course, HD has CITGO make all of their oils - which I also totally refuse to buy!
Hell spark plugs won't make a difference the forks and most of the electronics a made in Japan. As for the plugs stick with HD at least you know that they are correct for the bike. Most others list the one that is nearest the heat range as correct.
