I'm having an issue with our 04 dyna. I have raised the VE values at a 2500 cruise rpm, 10% throttle, 40-60 kPa MAP. The bike, as far as I know, just has the K&N filter and SE II mufflers with no baffles. I have raised the proper VE numbers to around 120%, but still am running 16:1-8:1 AFR, measured with an Innovate LM-1.
something seems really wrong here. I was thinking maybe it has the big bore kit, but the SERTmap for that isn't even nearly as high as i'm having to make this map.I've also droped the pushrod tubes, and there are no adjustable pushrods, so it must have the stock cams in it, too.
I don't think a stage 2 map will do much good either, because the VE at idle is 64%. I have the stage 1 map up to 97% at idle, and still just have 15.2:1 AFR at idle.
I have checked for vacuum leaks with WD-40 and found none.
Plugs look pretty lean. I even put the old plugs from my 06 in it and it cleaned all the carbon off of them.
The SERT takes into account a number of things to come up with a mathmatical equation for injector pulse, try setting the tuning constants in the SERT cubic inch displacement to 95 and see where you end up there. If you are using an 88 inch map with a 95 inch motor it would account for the high VE numbers.
I tried a 95" map, and it worsened, because it's only 6% bigger than the 88, and I'm set 20% higher than the canned 88 map. I'll keep adding until I get good AFR readings, and then take it in and have it checked out at the dealer, i guess.
