FLHT starting problem
I have a 1996 FLHT with about 27k miles that emits a whirring sound that ends in a schreech before finally catching for a start. Sometimes just whirring, even with repeated on/off key action.
Will this be a "do-it-yourself" fix or am I in for another $$$ contribution to the repair man retirement fund?

Your armiture is going bad in your starter or there is not enough battery juice to make it fly out and engage. Starters can be rebuilt, however less energy to just get a new one.
