My IEDs arrived yesterday. Im going to try and install them this week since we have a ride planned for Saturday. I want to try and hide them as much as possible. See how that works.
I installed the IED's today. They work great. Throttle is smooth, especially when holding a steady speed. I'm sure they'll lower the engine temp although I don't have one of those neat laser thermometers to measure.
I have to throw this into the mix,I posted a question some time ago in the dyna forum concerning the stage 1 download.I received a reply from Trotter stating that this download was specifically for the se ac and the se street legal slipons and would only be effective for this combination. From what I'm reading here people are getting the download with mainly different pipes etc. What's your opinion on this matter?By the way GREAT THREAD!
Put the pipes on yesterday- Rush slash down 1.75" baffles. Already had the Ness Big Sucker A/C on for a few hundred miles already. Put about 50 miles on yesterday and it ran great. No new ECM or reprogramming done or required. Im pleased.....
My only complaint is the bottom pipe extends further than the top.......not like stock where the taper meets the bottom where the top left off creating a straight line......it isnt adjustable either. But.....I suppose I am the only one who is looking or will even notice. I cant complain getting pipes and A/C kit for only 350.00 (shipping included)from Fuel Moto. As far as heat is concerned.......I bought my Fat Bob in September and since then......heat has not been an issue in Chicago.
I talked to Steve just yesterday and we got on the subject of pipes and mufflers.
I remember testing various configurations on the dyno and decided to take another look at the hp for the aftermarket and se pipes both with SE1/2 downloads and stock.
With every test I found (thanks Steve), hp was lost from the stock configuration.
It varied from 4 hp to 9 hp.
I thought you guys would like to know.
I have been watching this thread an with the good results purchased the IED's. Have been running them on the bike for 2 weeks. Running the SE A/C with K&N filter, old style screamin eagle mufflers, an stage 1 download. Without the IED's was getting some poping on decel, with the IED's the poping quite on decel. Fuel mileage running 44.75 mpg. Prior to this was running a pc 111 with a map from fuel moto, bike dynoed with that map at 77 hp an 88 lbs torque. Fuel mileage was 41 mpg. Bike feels just as strong an runs smooth. Bought these while waitng on a new Super Pro race tuner to arrive.
