Found it!!!!!!!
The wire harness coming into the fairing was rubbing on the radio.
The hot wire to the lamps rubbed through and every time I hit the switch, it shorted out.
Two zip ties, to pull the wires away from the radio, and a spot of liquid tape fixed the problem.
(I just couldn't get in there with regular electrial tape.)
I'm only posting this in the hopes that if anyone else has this or any other electrical problem
concerning lights in front of the bike, perhaps this will give them a place to look.
Here's a pic.
Look at the grey wire above my finger, the black dot is the burn mark/short that was causing my problems.
Hope this can help somebody sometime.

Nice find GD. I bet the dealer would not found it after being there 3 or 4 times...

Yes, it did drive me nuts![:@]
And I wasn't about to spend a fortune at the dealers to do something I felt I could do myself.
It would've been a Hell of alot easier to just run a new wire from the switch to the "Y" connenctor, but quite frankly , I'm pretty **** about stuff like that.
I need to know what and why something's happening.
One other thing I noticed when I was inside the fairing.
The 4 wires going to your instrument panel lights lay directly on top of the radio.
Granted there are no sharp edges for them to rub on, but I think I'll wrap some electrical tape around them to insulate them a bit better.
Gives me peace of mind.
Oh, did I mention how **** I am????
