I wonderd if thear were grimlins in vista, Ya vista can be a problem when it comes to older stuff ver. xp.

It worked!!!! I got the belkin adapter and every thing worked fine. I am useing vista allso, seemed to work fine.
Downloaded vista driver from belkin and works fine.

Bumping this to say thanks for the help!
I just had my bike dyno'd and got the file from the tuner, wanted to make some changes to try and get rid of the decell pop the tuner didn't fix. Hooked up my sert and had the same "25%" problem as the original poster. I'm using a non-Belkin USB to Serial adapter. I tried some different com port settings but that didn't do it. Went to Office Depot and picked up a Belkin USB to Serial adapter and it's all good now, maps load just fine.
FWIW, I do pull the lights fuse, don't have the bike on a tender and didn't need to have my laptop on AC power.
I can't even begin to put a price on the help that comes from this forum, Thanks again!
