Need help with wiring of the ignition module on a custom I am building. I cannot get the ignition unit to work without using the TSSM/immobiliser unit but I don't want this on my custom. Anyone know how do I wire the ignition unit to work without the security module?
Thanks, Jon

I can't tell you off hand but I can probably figure it out and get back to you. Take me a day or two, if you're not in a rush. Can you give me the part number on the Ignition module?
Hi Springer, I am trying to use the standard 2001 Dyna Twin cam ignition module but I can't get it to fire without the connection to the TSSM module, which I don't want to use. Is there a way to wire it up or do I need to go for an aftermarket ignition box?
Regards,
Jon
To use the ignition module without the TSSM you will need to check a couple things. First that you are getting power to the ignition module at pin 1 of the black connector .. it is probably a white wire with a black stripe. Confirm there is 12 volts when the bike is in the run position with the key on.
I assume you are using a MAP sensor, crank position sensor and a stock coil with the 3 pin connector.
Next confirm that Pin 2 and Pin 11 on the black connector of the ignition module are going to ground.
Assuming all of the above is fine, then you will need to add a Bank Angle Sensor to your bike. The reason it won't run without the TSSM module has to do with an Ignition Enable circuit. You can use a Bank Angle sensor to turn on the ignition enable circuit. The Bank Angle sensor needs to be wired up as follows.
Bank Angle Sensor
Pin A connect to Pin 10 of the black connector of the ignition module, remove any other connection to pin 10
Pin B connect to Ground
Pin C connect to pin 1 of the black connector of the ignition module.
The Bank Angle sensor then needs to be mounted on the bike with the connector pointed down. If you want it to work properly, it should be mounted so pin A is on the left side of the bike and pin C is on the right with the connector plugging in from the bottom.
Let me know if that takes care of the problem for you. Feel free to ask any questions if it is unclear.
