Stock 92 FLHS EVO. I need to replace the ignition sensor assy. in the nose cone. How do I remove and reinstall the original 3-wire connector, or install a new one, on the wiring harness? Has anyone done this?

There is a 3 wire connector on the wires coming from the sensor plate. Write done the color of the wires and what pins they go to. Draw a picture and note if it is looking at the connector from the front or back, when you draw it. Typically it takes a pin removal tool to release the pins. There are 2 male pins and a female pin. The female pin is the hardest one to remove. A tip is to soak the connector in Hot Water and that softens the rubber up a little. You might be able push the male pins out with a small flat end punch and pushing on the tip of the pin.
After you remove the wires from the connector you can pull them through the hole in the bottom of the cam cover.
Thanks for the replies.
I am still a little confused. Do I push the pins and wire out the front of the connector, remove the pins, and pull the wires out the back. (I've seen this before). Or, do I pull the wires and pins directly out the back of the connector?
Thanks again,
Bob

You push the pins out the back of the connector from the front, with the wires attached. You do not remove the wires from the pins. When you are done, the rubber connector will be seperate from the wires with the pins attached.
Any tips on installing the new pins into the connector? Having a heck of a time. Thanks.
That's the fun part. Found a factory replacenent and if the harness had been 1/4" shorter it wouldn't have worked. Perseverance is the only advise I can offer. Wish I'd had a lift.
