My last software version required running engine to about 285 degrees as part of initializing. I can't find ref to this in the 2008 version I have now. Did they do away with this requirement and only go with the 30 seconds on/off x3 as the only method now?

I've read that several times in the old software. Damned if I can find that in the new. I'm either getting blind, or they did away with the run to temp part on first start up.

When I installed my last Tmax tech said I would just need to cycle the switch and be done but my instructions said to run at idle for the final stage. I was confused but went ahead and did the idle thing like old and have had no problems (knock on wood!!!) : )
I agree with the run it to temp on first run for the time being, as it can't hurt anything. I just find it odd that there is no mention of this in the latest and greatest software. Previous software made mention of it many times, even in trouble shooting section. I was curious if it was an oversite in the manual or over time they've found the (run it to operating temp) unnecessary and the 3 on , off cycles good enough. Time will tell.

When I was at sturgis, I asked the tech there in the tent because I had heard that on another forum that it was gone and he told me yes it was gone and no longer necessary that it would adjust itself. Todd
