left control adjustment

I am haveing problems with adjusting my left hand controls . I loosen left hand controls slightly and roll forward to make it more comfortable on my hands reaching over the clutch lever ( arthritus ) when I do if I go far enough I short out horn or headlight or both . I should mention this is on a 07 RKC and has been dropped on left side . is this right or is it posible there is something wrong

If you look closely at the handlebars, you will see a indented section where the switch housing meets the bar on the bottom side. That indented or dimpled section is for the wiring to pass through so the housing doesn't pinch it and short it out. You may be trying to roll it to far and pinching the wiring. There isn't much there to play with. I have also used a dremmel tool and taken away some of the metal on the bottom side of the housing to allow the wires more room when moving the housing around. Give that a try.

thanks for the tip I will look at this and see if it will work and also look and see if there is already any damage to that since it was dropped on that side .
