Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
Have a stage one and Race Tuner, the bike (2007 Dyna) was dyno tuned. Now the bike is starting to ping again, I think it may be the winter gas.
Another tuner (without a dyno) closer to me said that he can make some adjustments, perhaps take out some timing. Since he is close, this may be a better alternative since I can go back for tweaks.
If the bike was dyno'd somewhere else, what are the issues with this? Will he have access to the tables and what is currently in there? Would he be able to put it back to those settings if he make no progeess, or it gets worse? Need some advice.
Once a bike is "Dialed In", it is what it is.... If the bike has been operating up to this point, the way you wanted, then it is the gas, or even heavy carbon on the pistons....
Point is, IF you have the final map that was installed, and you can have this other guy remove a few degrees of timing, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN THE "WINTER GAS" IS ALL GONE??????
FWIW, how can a guy be a "Tuner" without having a Dynomometer.... Guess he has a gifted azz?????
One thing is get fresh gas. It doesn't have a noticable impact on my '94 sportster, but it has a big impact on my '08 fat bob. Even just 2-3 weeks of setting has it running like crap until I run out the tank that sat and refill it.
