I have about 2000 miles on my Ultra. The only mods I have are Pipes, Airfilter, and PC111. While riding in heavy stop & go traffic, the RPMs begin to drop to the 750 range and then the engine goes dead. Did this numerous times yesterday.
Does this sound like the injector problem that's popping up on 06s and will it be a warranty issue with the mods I've mad?
Also there is a heat management system on your bike that lowers the rpm. At 266 degrees f the ECM will reduce idle speed to 900 rpm. At 293 degrees f the ECM will lower the idle speed to 800 rpm. At 322 degrees f the ECM advances the spark timing 10 degrees. AT 331 degrees f the fuel injector pulses are randomly interrupted. Since there is no combustion it would be perceived as a misfire. Did this problem seem to correct itself once you were out of heavy traffic?.......................BG
I had same problem. the bike goes in for the 25 degree injectors Tuesday, Get rid of the 8 degree no matter what they say. You want the injectors replaced. If there wasn't a problem with the 8's they wouldn't of switched to 25's.
It could be the injectors, but... The only problem i had with the 8's was the bike would stumble at take off. I had a stock bike, so the only option they had was to replace (+ i used the "had a car almost run up my a**").
I have heard the dealerships have been telling folks the mods are the problem until they are eliminated from the equation or the injector issue goes from TSB to Recall. Depends on the dealership i guess.
