Will it Run?
2008 Road King has (2) O2 sensors. I have a digital Air/Fuel meter (LM-1) that uses a wideband O2 sensor. Assuming that my sensor physically fits I would like to disconnect and remove my stock, narrow band O2 sensor from the front pipe so that I can install my wideband sensor to record A/F ratios for tuning purposes, but how will the engine run if I do this? It would see the missing sensor and set an error code, but would it stay in closed loop mode? Would it go to open loop? My desire is to see an actual measured A/F ratio at various cruise speeds so that I can use my SERT to optimize cruise mpg without going overly lean.

ummmmm, you're chasing your tail. first off, when the bike is in closed loop, its constantly retuning itself, up to 40% off baseline. when you remove the o2 sensor, it will go to open loop, thereby defeating the purpose of using your wide band guage, since it won't really be how the bike is running with the stock o2 sensor hooked up. changing the super tuner based on this will give you a bad tune. if anything, weld in another o2 sensor bung to use your guage.
