Default blowing accessory fuse

i have a stock 2004 flhtci with 7000 miles on it.it started tripping the acc.fuse intermitently now dead short anyone else heard of this problem? thanks,great site and people.

Nothing like a tripping breaker/blown fuse to create some headaches. Not being familiar with the newer bikes, are you talking fuse (which is a one-time device that "blows") or a breaker (which can reset)? Anyway, aside from something obvious such as pinched or worn insulation, it is a matter of checking the components on that particular circuit, and isolating the fault. Can be tedious, but if you have a service manual and a simple ohm meter, it isn't overly difficult.

Maybe you can check your bulb wattage to see if it is higher than your lights are rated for.

Sorry, I don't know much about your bike and how it is arranged, but I would pull the seat and start chasing wire circuits. Look up under the fender also. Sometimes, the harness will come loose and rub against the tire. Look for any place that a wire could have worn and grounded itself.
