05 RKC code U1016
My '05 RKC has set a code U1016 3 times in the 1 1/2 years I've owned it.
The bike popped back during a hot restart and the secruity light came on for 10 seconds and went out. The turn signals act funny when this happens also. This is when it sets a code.
The dealer tells me it's in the wiring harness but hasen't checked it out yet.
I have an appointment tomorrow but I'm very affraid of letting them touch it.
My question is has anyone else seen this code and what was done to repair it?
How can this be in the harness when it seems to be when the engine misfires?

That code for my '04 means Loss of ICM/ECM Serial Data Instruments. I don't know if it is the same for yours. Which sounds about right for being a problem with the wiring harness if you lose your instruments. Did you check all your codes and compare them to a list or is that the only one you got?
