i have just bought a 06 ultra, my first EFI bike.

i also bought the RACE TUNER software from the HD dealer.

anybody do their OWN SERT?

i sure hope so!

 

there's a bunch of us on here doing our own sert, but im not sure how many are doing it right??? LOL

i know im not, im still learning......you can start with the stock hd canned map thats already on the sert software for your set-up and bike! its a start but really not a good map they seem to be real lean. maybe some of the other guys on here can help you more than i can?? i just pruchased a daytona 88+ and a wego and hopefully i will be able to tune the damm bike to my liking now??

few basics:

sert is easy to use for programming the bike.

programming the map correctly for your bike seems to be quite hard?

the canned maps on the disk work fine, just a little lean.

you cannot copy the stock map on the bike.

you can only use the sert on one bike...the first one you hook it up to.

you may want to use the data part of the sert first, to get use to the program.

print out the sert instructions and read them first, i think a total of about 200 pages?

Yes, Read Read Raed study and learn, And use at your own risk. The DTT 88+ with WEGO would be thhe ultimate! Or even the new VRFI-D Closed loop system would be better!

I have a 06 RKC with V&H dersser-Duals, Rush 2-1/4" baffels and Arlen Ness Big sucker.
I started with the canned map # 141NR101 which runs excelent but is a little on the rich side especially on the front cylinder and very rich on innitial start-up.
This is my first FI bike but I have been tuning A/F ratios for many years. The sert is a tuners paridise as long as they know what they are doing. A new evolution compared to changing jets.
Any way I increased the VE on the rear cylinder to compensate for the pipe length and leaned by 2 decriments across the board. I know I'm close so I can run the data log and dial it in.
Take your time and read the manuals that come with the kit, It really is a breeze.
