My question is, what is it I'm hearing while riding when rolling on the go above 3200RPM, I hear a ticking sound that I'm calling detonation, but have been told by my tuner and a friend, it's gear/valve train noise. We plug it in and add more fuel, but still have it. Bike runs great and I like my TTS, but what the hell is the ticking sound I get when rolling on the go???? Is it really valve train/gear noise? I should make note, it did it even prior to the TTS.
TTS is a flash-based tuning option created by Steve Cole, who is also responsible for SERT. He is not involved in the latest SEST from HD but his mark is there from the older product (SERT) and these three tuners remain very closely related. They work with the ECU via software to make changes in the ECU's configuration and operation and are locked to one bike. You can't use these tuners on another bike or transfer them to a new bike when you trade, although TTS may have an upgrade path of some sort, but it is not free.
