Ok, I bought a 1998 883 for the wife and the speedo does not work. After some investigation it has the magnetic pickup installed and after some testing it seems to work. The issue is there is no wiring harness from the three prong plug of the pickup to the speedo. So coming out of the speedo I have 3 wires that go into the headlight. It is not a problem to make a harness to splice the speedo to the pickup but I am not getting any power to the speedo at all. Is it just these 3 wires? Where does the speedo get 12V?
