HOLY SHEEP STUFF! My head hurts like I've been banged around inside an up-armored after an IED after reading all the posts on this subject! I've recently put some screamin eagle slash cut slip on's on my '08 FLHT. The bike runs hot of course. I plan on changing my air intake as well. It's obvious I need a tuner. But which? I don't plan on going any further with modifications. I just got tired of all my buddies yank'in my sack about riding a "Stealth Harley"!

Yup, it's a merry-go-round on the choice.
Break it down.
Auto tune or flash the tune.
With an auto tune all you do is pay big then plug and play. Let it do all the work like a cheap date for a few thousand miles and it will compensate.
Flash the tune boxes are a bit complicated to start but once it's done, it's done and you get immediate results and its about half the price.
Popular auto tunes are PCV and TMax. Flash and tune popular models are the TTS (my fav) or the SEST.
Just about any name brand fueler or tuner will liven up the bike, satisfy your butt dyno. Its gets complicated when you not only want power to satisfy the butt dyno, but also want to consider mpg, street driveability, reliability, cost benifit, heat, ease of use, adaptability, independence, value .... and then there is all the marketing hype and fan boys. Your head spins partly because there is not one best product for everyone.
General consensus today is that if you want the optimum mix for a late model O2 equipped bike and are a DIYer that is comfortable around a laptop, look at the TTS tuning kit. The kit is a good tool for your tool box. If you are not a DIYer, find a competent tuner, tell him what you want to do and take his recommendation (one of the tuning products and a street dyno tune).
Just about any name brand product will work much better than stock and there are many happy customers for each. The best for you is subjective.
Thank you guys for the "KISS" answers. It really is a great help. I have an issue with my local HD shop. Don't really trust their opinions because of bias. Not to mention I bought the mounting brackets for a detachable passenger back rest and it took three trips to the dealership to get the parts right. After all, I am just a dumb old ARMY medic!
