I've read all of the threads, read everything I can find... but I can't reflash after using Smart Tune. What am I doing wrong?
I load the base calibration file. Set the tuner up to record. Start recording. Take the bike out for a run. Come back and stop recording before power off. Download my data and save it. Go to Smart Tune and 'Add New' to load my data. Generate and Update. All of that seems straightforward and my program follows the instructions... no errors or differences in the sequence of events.
Now, when I go to reflash my ECM, to load the modified map, nothing happens.
In the Tuning window I ensure my modified file is selected.
I ensure only the Reset Adaptive Fuel box is checked.
Click the Program ECM Cal button to reflash and absolutely nothing happens. No file is loaded, no green bars, nothing.
So far, this has been a frustrating waste of time for me... any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
I know everything is functional because I can load any of the canned maps and flash the ECM that way... just can't use my Smart Tune modified map.
What's that they say about perspective?
Walked away. Did something else... back to the garage and repeated all of the steps (from saving the modified file). Reflashed ECM, and it worked.
Went for a spin and it seems OK. Too soon to tell if it made a difference. Plan to do a few more sessions...
One thing you will find with the SE tuner is the program itself. Numerous times I have had to close and restart the program in order to flash or even bring up the radio windows. I like the tuner itself, but at times the software can be annoying
