Default Do I remap for pipe change?

This may sound like a completely stupid question, but please read on. I only ask this because I have had so many issues with the mapping on my bike from the dealership. I currently have a 05 Softail Deluxe with V&H Longshot pipes, HD Race Tuner and Stage 1 A/F. I want to change the pipes to Samsons True Duals. Do I need to remap when both pipes SEEM to be high flow pipes? Dealership says I do.

Sorry if it really is a stupid question!

Just but on the other pipes and it should be alright. You don'have to remap everytime you install pipes, just air intake changes.

You don't HAVE to do anything.......but try it and see if your bike runs like $hit. I bought the SERT so I could remap it multiple times. But chances are you will compromise the performance of the bike once you change any components. You will probably notice it if you have has it staged already. So why not?

Wrong.

If the new pipes have the same back pressure characteristics, No you will not have to remap.

Otherwise you will need to.

Air intake or muffler changes that increase the air flow through the engine require remaping.

I bought my 07 RKC back in July and there was nothing really out yet for it. So we dynoed the bike installed a set of D&Ds then dynoed again. Bike sounded completely different but A/F stayed the same...pick up like .5 HP and Touque...nothing to write home about but my point it did not affect the tune enough to cause concern. If it sounds good and runs good don't worry. If you have problems, then take it in.

Exhaust has some effect on the tune but very little when compared to the intake side.
