Also remember that it is possible to park in an area that has interference due to radio transmission and other frequency interference that will render your fob useless.
If this happens for what seems like no reason, use your pass code to unlock/bypass the security system, or try to move the bike to a different spot in the parking lot.
I travel to a place for a business meeting from time to time and the only place to park is where interference renders my fob useless. I just simply use the passcode to get around the problem.
