So you've heard you may need the ICM updated (M-1162 service bulletin) on your 04 or 05 bike? The dealer is confused and says you don't need one? So how do you find out for sure if you need to do it? On 04 and 05 bikes you can extract the part number of your ICM using the speedo. If the part number is not 32478-04A or 32622-04A (the key being ending in A) then you need the update. Note: The 883 sportster will be updated to a B at the end.
