I need some help with electrical
Hey guys, I have a 76 sportster, I just put a new wiring harness on it and can"t get the starter to kick in, everything else seems to be working, lights signals etc.
Now when I energize the start button I hear the starter relay click and the solenoid clunk, yet no starter.
battery is good lots of juice, I also tried crossing the solenoid to ensure the starter is good and it turns over the motor no problem.
Any one got any ideas for me please.
my project is at a stand still till I fix it.

Is the relay new? If old, it could be not passing enough current to the starter motor.
Also, battery needs to be strong enough or it will not turn the starter motor under load of the engine. Have you tried jumping it?
