Just purchased and installed a new Power Commander V. I read through the available maps and found something I thought was close but wanted to get an opinion by the masses. My config is:
2009 Ultra Classic
Stock 96" engine
Vance & Hines Dresser Duals
Cobra Tri-Oval mufflers
Screaming Eagle a/c with K&N air filter
Power Commander V 15-003
I choose this map:
* 15-003-034 Vance & Hines Dresser Duals , Vance & Hines Monster oval slip-ons, Screamin Eagle air filter, Rev Xtend enabled, Table 1 is front cylinder
I figured the Monster Ovals are similar to the Tri-Ovals. Also wondered what the Rev Extended enabled and Table 1 is front cylinder means.
The type of muffler is a real small detail unless you are talking about comparing a drilled out straight through muffler compared to one with catalytic converters in them. I have a PCIII so am going off of what mine has, but "rev extended enabled" means that your redline/governor/rpm limiter was bumped up a bit, off hand I forget what it was set at stock (5400 I think) compared to where it is now (somewhere just over 6000)? Table 1 is front cylinder; you can tune front and rear cylinders individually with power commanders, table 1 is te settings for your front cylinder.
I just installed Cobra Tri-Ovals for my 2010 RK with PCV, Vance & Hines VO2 AC, and dresser duals. I downloaded the PCIII maps even though my year takes maps from a PCV. I use map M15-003-040 for power and map M15-011-031 for a little better fuel econ.
I think you might try map M15-003-040 for Rinehart slipons which have straight through baffles like yoiur Tri-Ovals. Also you might consider getting an auto tune OR taking it in for a dyno.
