Hey all,
Can someone with a factory manual for a 'newer' touring bike tell me what the ohm resistances for the fuel gauge are?
I am looking to put an LED gauge on my 1999 Road King (carburated)...And I want to know why the 'newer' gauges say they won't work.

Are you talking about the sending unit.

Not referring to the sending unit - I am looking for the difference between the actual fuel gauge.
It seems that all of the fuel indicators (dunny gas caps) are set-up with a 3-wire system for operation. Why won't a later model (LED if possible) fuel gauge work on a '99?
A Cap is made that has an LED fuel level indicator for a 2k2 - what would keep it from working on a '99? My best guess was that the ohm resistancewas different for newer models....
