ECM problem solved!
A number of months ago I posted about an unusual problem I had encountered involving the ECM on my '05 Deuce.
The 05A ECM malfunctioned, resulting in it being replaced at the dealership under warrenty. The new ECM, however, was the updated 05B model, and it wouldn't allow '05 downloads. So, an '07 download was modified and downloaded into the new ECM. The bike was dynoed, and it ran great, but since the '07 software operated with O2 sensors (and my '05 didn't have O2 sensors) the CEL stayed on almost the entire time.
Months went by as the MoCo searched for a solution. That solution was finally ready and sent to the dealer just last month. It was a software fix that allowed the 05B ECM to accept pre-'07 downloads.
I picked the bike up yesterday and it runs great. No CEL except at startup, with is normal. They even serviced my steering head bearings, trued the front wheel, and serviced the primary. Cost? No charge! The Lynchburg dealership treated me right and I appreciate it as much as they appreciated my patience. It all worked out.

That's kind of service make's me want to ride 1000mile's to have done for my bike, I never know when the whole dealer ship's well change all good people and hire a kid right out of training school, and when you spend $30,000.00 plus extra's too, you would hope they do you right!! The dealer I bought from, the sale's guy was friend for life until he got my money, now he will not even make eye contact with me. Has any one else had same problem? There is 4 dealer's in kind of close , but they don't want to work on bike they did not sell.I live in D.F.W. area.
