In meomory of Jake.
Gunned down one year ago while on duty.
We love and miss you Jake. Your great aunt Jacque and I will be having a a Snickers Bar and thinking of you today.
You were one hell of a cop and I feel honored to have been a part of your family, and to have shared the times we spent together.

One of my best friends and riding buddies is forty years my junior and the very same age. Deputy Sheriff.
He texts me when there’s been an LE shooting in his small county to let me know it wasn’t him

Jakes dad used to tell me that any time he got a phone call from a Joplin area code number, his heart would sink thinking something may have happened to Jake.
I told him, "You should never have to worry about that, Jake is good cop".
Unfortunately, I was wrong.
His dad took it really hard and we are still worried about him, I don't know if he will ever be able to come to grips with what happened.
Having lost a child, I know how hard it can be.
