Thinking of putting forward controls on my E1973 xlh 1000. I have seen 2 types. One uses a rod for the rear brake on the left and the other a cable. The cable system seems cleaner and tucked in while the rod hangs out. But do the cables last?

I have seen both types used on a 1974. Rod is much better.
Best are the Kraft Tech model. Scroll to the very end. They may not be making them any more? Any sellers, such as J&P Cycles, will use the same diagram so they are easy to recognise. Some sellers include the foot rests. I have never seen any better than these...
