Default mufflers

I'm tired of my drags and want to go back to regular mufflers. I've got a set of header pipes with the crossover tube. I just need the mufflers. Where can I get these things? I was really hoping to get some from Cycle Shack but I think they're toast.

Any brand name slip-on mufflers that fit Sportsters 1980-2003 will fit or can be made to fit simply.

What year is your IronHead? If it is pre-1980 you may like to get a 1980-on rear muffler bracket.

Don't those tin can sporty mufflers have an extra hole in them that goes out at an angle?

For the 1975 you will need the 1980-on rear muffler bracket 65599-80A. The muffler has a downward tab which bolts to the bracket. Pic of 1980-on Cycle Shack rear on a 1978 with the 1980 bracket. [The zip-tied black rubber hose comes from the crankcase vent] ...

The front muffler has an upward tab which fits over a stud that comes out of the case/cover. There should be something [footpeg mount?] that could be used on a '75. Here is a pic of a 1980-on Cycle Shack on a 1978,..

A couple of links for the bracket. Should be more, cheaper...

I have not heard of the extra hole thing ???

I hear what your saying and i hope you find what your looking for

With that being said, I think an ironhead with drags is about as good as it gets for sound. Something about it

My experience is that the drags are TOO LOUD. When I cruise alone they interfere with enjoyment of the ride. Drags are great for "making an impression" though I have always had two sets of Cycle Shack slip-ons: taper tips with stock CS baffles for daily rides, and slash cuts [pictured above] with baffles replaced by lollipop baffles for special events. One buddy commented that riding beside me with the slash cuts was like riding beside a freight train

I've had drags on mine forever. I want to quiet it down now. I wish cycle shack hadn't gone out of business.
