Default Cracked inner

Am in the middle of a rebuild and am tearing down the primary....and whammy cracked the inner primary....I haven’t went much further to attempt to pull it off yet....but will it come off or do I need to find a good tig welder?

Ouch
You might be able to find an inner cheaper.
The deal with that is it can be welded, but it will have to be decked too at a machine shop

Inner primary is part of the engine cases on an ironhead, mix matching case halves means machine work.

Hillbilly budget fix is clean it and rebuild the area with an industrial version of JB weld and don't laugh it's been done and will work. That area isn't load bearing it's just a sealing surface. Product's available even large companies will use for spot repairs on something none critical like that.

Correct and proper fix is a tear down, off to the welder and have it redecked after.

JB weld and don't laugh it's been done and will work. ... Yep, been there and done that on a couple of "low dollar repairs" ....especially on the old Japanese scooters that would break a drive chain and punch it through the case

I guess I should have noticed that....about it being a Sportster.LOL
