Update. I was pretty sure it was the carb. I went to my local indy and after digging through a shed full of old harley and import stuff I asked the head wrench if he had anything that would work on my Ironhead. He went into the back and came out with a Zenith with an adjustable main jet. Said he didn't have the bowl with it so if I wanted it it would be $20. SCORE! The bowl from my old carb fit perfect. I set the float and bolted it up...Well, The bike runs like a top. Pulls hard and with some more adjusting it will run even better. I have to replace a couple cork push rod cover caskets but looks like she is a keeper.
Jimbo....
Good fix at the right price! Remember what I said about that O-ring. If it ever starts running rich, it will be the O-ring that is the problem.
Glad to hear it runs good now and thanks for updating us all with news of the fix.......pg
