Hey all I am new here so I figured I would pick your brains for a minute...I took of the primary to inspect my 81 Ironhead's clutch and and primary chain, and when I got in there I noticed that my clutch shell had numerous teeth rounded off and square tipped, so I need a new clutch shell. I was looking for one and I can't seem to find one for my scoot. I have a 81 XLH I found lots of shells up to 1980 but nothing for 1981. I was curious what the differance in these shells were other then mine is electric start only and these are kick/electric. Does anybody know what years of these shells are interchangeable? If someone could get me some info I would appreciate it. Basically what I am asking is what years of shell will interchange with my 81? Or does someone have a good used 81 shell they are willing to part with? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure I keep seeing everything listed up to 80 and even some of them saying will not fit 81 and higher? not trying to doubt you too much just want to make sure before I purchase one.

Oops, I should have noted that there are 3 styles - my fault. There is a '71 - '80 kick only, '71 - '80 kick & electric that uses a ratchet plate, and '81 - early '84 that uses a ring gear. So the '81 thru '84 will interchange on yours.
