carb and oil question

carb and oil question
I just got this chopper bobber sportster and I checked the oil and I noticed a scent of gas in the oil is this possible? The bike was sitten around for a while and it has a S&S carb on it. Thanks charly Also is there anything that I can check. I am going to change the oil it does have a oil cooler on it too. 20w 50 good for cold weather nj thanks again I do have a 98 glider and never any these type of problems.

Gas in the oil? Some one could of really flooded the cylnders wityh gas. S&S carbs will do that if you pump and let it sit. Change the oil. I have a 72 motor run 25-60 winter and straight 70 in summer

My '77 has had nothing but Pennzoil 20w-50 put in it for most of it's life. 53k miles and it's still running, so it must work.
