Hey all ...I'm a member from the evo/sporty side...I really miss my old ironhead and think I found one.....typical problems:
1...oil leaks around tappet blocks
2...balding rear tire
3...needs chain
4...exhust system, not so good
5...needs rear brake shoes
6...front brake master is not too good
7..can't tell milage....engine is original, no smoke , runs pretty good
Bike is pretty much original (paint, fenders)
I know it is tough w/o seeing it, but what in general is something like this worth...ballpark.....dude wants $2800.00..................thanks..BINNY
I'd say if it's not chopped up and has no major issues it would probably be worth what the guy is asking. Most of the things you listed are minor issues you could tackle. The thing is you would probably not be able to re-sell and make money after what it would cost to repair it. Plus you could run into other issues once you start working on it. It would be a fun ride though.
Seems a little high but not much. I agree with mojo that the only thing you will get out of what you put into it will be enjoyment. The value aint gonna change a lot. Don't forget this bike is a right hand shift.
