Default Highway pegs ?'s

If a 75 ironhead has the aftermarket crome oil filter setup, can you still use highway pegs, it looks like there is an extra hole in the mount for the oil filter that you could connect the extension and peg to. If you cannot, how important is it to have that filter, I think I would much rather have the forward pegs than a little extra chrome.

First of all, is there any other oil filter setup on the bike? If not then you may find that the "crome" becomes very important. You really need that oil filter system. There are a number of styles on the market to put an oil filter in differant locations so that you can use forward controls or highway pegs

Didn't you just post that your motor had less than 500 miles since a top end rebuild? Truth is there wasn't a filter on it when it was new. But with a new motor I would paint the filter flat black and change the oil and filter at 500.

There are lots of ways to mount pegs if you want them.

I bought a 72 XLH, it has highway pegs & chrome oil filter. there is a notch cut out of the mounting plate for the left peg to fit around filter. (I found this out when I tried to switch sides of pegs to move to a more comfortable position) not sure if this helps, but maybe you can cut or grind a noth in yours.
