Bike worth?
btw, this is an Ebay Bike, from Ohio. I live in PA. This is his second time listing it, and currently, with 1 day left after sitting at $930 (reserve not met) for 3 days it finally moved to $1030. I'm wondering if it doesn't sell this time, I could email him and get him lower. What do you guys think?
Ok, the guy wants $2100 for the bike, but said the lowest he'd go would be $1950. He was originally asking $2500 for it, and said he paid for someone to rewire the bike but never had anyone look at the bike to see why it would not stay running.

I think buying any bike without looking at it in person first is plain dumb.

One....How bad do you want it?
Two....How bad does the owner want to sell it?
If the bike has not met a sale on its second go around on Ebay, the owner may be getting the message that perhaps his pride and joy is priced too high.
I suggest you make a bid at the last minute and bid the highest you would pay for the machine.
If you are the winning bidder, the bike is yours provided the reserve has been met.
If the reserve has not been met but you are the high bidder, then that puts you in the catbirds seat.
I would wait him out for a day or two and see if he makes a move.
If you start emailing the guy you may tip your hand and give him the idea you are really interested in buying the machine.
If you decide you really want the bike I would not email him. I would call him up and just make a firm offer and see if he will take it.
Remember, you will have to get it home.
Even if you drive to his place in Ohio and pick it up, the gas is still going to cost you some money to get there and back home.
You can be assured that the ironhead is going to cost you even more money after it is yours, so keep that in mind as you make larger and larger offers to the guy.
As I had said before, in my estimation the bike is worth $1500 to $2K, and the $1500 is the better deal for you. The $500 will buy a lot of parts that you may need to buy to get the bike running right.
Keep us up to date on the news please, and good luck.............pg
