You will have it running before you know it. Besides, it's too cold in Connecticut to be riding anything now! Summer is coming before long.
Of course down here in Texas we can ride year round....... or for the most of it anyway........... pg

I want a flat screen TV in my workshop like yours. If I had that I would never go in to see my wife and kids. I would just sit in the shop looking at the tv or my bike.

Any way ,, I started trying to figure out why I had no spark ????? After some work with the Ohm meter, The points (point) fell separated from the spring so I had no ground. after soldering it, we had spark in the magneto. So now its the waiting game to wait for the new points. they are after market points so I couldn't get them at the Harley Dealer. After they come in I will install them And try to get the mag back in the correct spot.. thanks all for the help. Rj

Nice machine. Did you remove your rear fender struts and make that rear fender yourself? I just got my 66 magneto iron running a couple of weeks ago. It sounds great.

Yes , removed the fender struts and built the short fender, I also had to weld onto the frame to support the fender and the seat because I wanted more of a streched look so I moved the seat back 3" ... RJ

I have to agree with Piniongear, a Sportster with a mag looks great. I almost bought a 1969 XLCH that they had on the floor in 1970. I had a good friend that had worked at the dealer for about 10 years, he talked me out of buying the "69" with the mag, I bought a 1970 with a battery. Keep in mind that Harley did not use Multi-grade oil in those days, He told me "they just don't start on a really cold day when the oil is thick, you just can't spin it fast enough to get a good spark". He took me in the back of the shop and showed me a 1968 XLCH they had picked up several hours before ( Feburary in Norfolk,Va.)that had been outside all night, fired right up after being inside for several hours. Anyone else have any experiences like this ?
