I got my back tire and fender off this evening so I can get a better look. I'll probably clean the old girl up tomorrow. I dont have a garage or shop so when it gets dark I'm done. Also, can I pull the starter off to see the return line?

Well, it is a bit of work but maybe that would be best to remove the starter. You want to take a good look at the oil line.
One problem....... you are not going to be able to start it without a starter. So all you can do is inspect the line carefully, make sure it is tightly connected to the oil tank, then reinstall the starter.

Now that I have typed it out it sounds like a very good idea. That way you eliminate the oil line as a problem once and for all.
What supr2nr said makes good sense to me. It seems like the return oil line (or it's connection to the tank) may explain this horrendous oil leak.
Let us know what you find. We are hanging by our fingernails awaiting the results........... pg

Here is a pic of the return oil line (item 15).
I'm certain you know where the return line is, but if your line is routed under the starter before it goes to the tank connection, then pull the starter off for sure.
That will allow you to inspect the oil line, plus clean the top od the trans case better. Stuff paper towels into the starter hole of the primary though......... pg

Really the best way to determine this instead of pulling everything off would be:

1. Fill oil tank with appropriate amount of oil
2. Leave oil cap off bike
3. Start motor
4. Watch to see if oil is returning back to the tank at the top near the oil cap.

This saves you the trouble of having to pull everything to check.

also check the seal at kick start shaft going into the primary case as this could be problem to. if you have kick start.
if you dont have kick start you may have an issue with kick start shaft plug. let us know

I cranked her up and looked in the tank. Oil was returning to the tank but just in squirts, not a steady stream. The oil WAS puddeling up under and around the starter. I got the battery out,the solenoid off the oil tank off and the oil tand bracket. Theres two hoses under and around the back of the starter, one is the return and the other goes to the oil tank also. They are both pinched so bad I don't know how anything could get through either of them. Anyway here came the rain again so I did'nt get the starter off yet. I'm hoping the hoses are the problem.Mabe the rain will slack up in a little while.

One is the return line the other is the vent. The return line, like all of the other oil lines, should be 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD. The vent should be 1/4" ID, 1/2" OD.

When you buy replacement hoses specify both ID and OD. Do not get a larger OD for any of these hoses as it will be more difficult to route correctly, and more likely to kink.

If you go to an auto supply they are likely to sell you hose that is too large OD. If they don't have the right ones go elsewhere.

Route these hoses carefully. On my bike they have to cross over each other somewhere, so i do that when they are verticle, before they get to the solenoid. The vent [skinnier] goes to the back where it slips under the starter shaft housing more easily.

I find the length to be critical. 1" too long and it crunches up somewhere; 1" too short, well, too bad start over. Best to start too long, take your time, redo it a few times if necessary, get it right.

The most difficult part on my bike is where they run in front of the starter motor - again they have to cross, and if not exactly right the starter motor will not go in easily.
