i think it could be your ground.---i also think you may have gotten a bum relay.i had to pull the trans. in my ford ranger 3 times because of a bad slave cyl.(once in the kit, then a opened replacement, shoulda known better, then finally a good one) sometimes you get bad new parts.i would clean your grounds though.quick and cheap.
earlier didnt you go direct to the starter from a car?if so then ...????
ok i rechecked and cleaned my grounds then i bypassed the starter relay straight to soliniod same voltage as befor so i disconected the my starter button wire then i wire and external button switch one side straight to batt the other to small terminal on starter soliniod i now have 12 volts when i press button so hooked starter up to solinoid but still wont crank over with plugs in
no same plugs as before it ran with them thought about the bump start but i have a big incline to push it back up if it dont start going to take starter to this starter shop here have them check it
yes thats what it seems to me that somyhing is binding up under compression bendix moves nice and free back and forth on the shaft are you talking about the bearing in the primary case cause it looks good
Have you recently adjusted the primary chain? In that video your chain looks to be really tight. With it being overly tight the motor will have a harder time revolving giving you the problem you just experienced. In that same fill hole can you measure and give us an estimate on the amount of slack you have on the primary chain?
my question is, is the starter continuing to spin while the engine doesn't turn? it's really hard to tell in the video. Not sure if the setup on your Ironhead is the same as what my old shovelhead is, but I just had to replace the starter drive gear because the one way bearing would spin both ways, It would spin the motor over just slightly, then break loose and the starter would spin but not the engine.
i have between 1/4 to 1/2 inch slack in primary chain i have had it running before have not adjusted chain also i dont think the starter keeps turning cant tell for sure though i think i need to take apart and inspect the drive gear assy
