I am the new owner of a 74 ironhead. This is only my second pre-90's Harley, so i am still learning. What kind of oil pressure should I expect? I believe I am dealing with a stroker kit as well, as this thing runs faster than any other sporty i have ever riden.
It had a gauge mounted when I got it. I fired it up and the gauge puked. Figured I would just replace it, but everything I find is 60-100lbs, which seemed way too high. Might look for a lower pressure gauge just to fill the hole.
A gauge mounted up top is next to useless, except as a show piece. It will usually show some pressure when the oil is cold then go to zero. One connected at the oil pump together with the oil pressure sender will read true, that is 20 to 60 psi cold to very cold, and between 5 and 10 psi hot oil.
I installed a kind of T fitting at the pump so i could have both the oil light and the gauge. It is actually more like an F, with a 45` fitting behind it.

Pressure gauge in rocketbox is waist of money... or show piece as IronMick wrote.
Check from your oiltank that warm oil has steady flow from return line.
