Part #707 is the transmission drain plug. The trans has no connection to the crankcase and the crankcase has no drain plug. When the base loads up with oil, the oil pukes out the breather tube until the crankcase area is empty. You will not be able to remove this oil by draining the transmission............pg

I'm going to try and start her up today and I will post some pictures of where the oil is pushing. The oil lines running from the case to the heads are steel braided lines and they do not leak. There is a crankcase plug I will provide a photo just for info. I am probably going to bring the bike to a guy named Jessie Stewert maybe you've heard of him maybe not. He has a shop here in Vegas (dragstews.com). Anyway I will try to post pictures but I might be a little slow after all it's 105 degrees and trying to kick it over is hazardous to your health.

I have a 74 and it has three drain plugs on the cases. One drain plug is under the transmission, one drain plug is under the clutch and the third one is directly under the flywheels. The crankcase and tranny plugs are 1/2x13 and the clutch plug is magnetic.

Part#707 is the plug for the transmission and the plug for the crankcase, the Harley Davidson parts book clearly calls for two plugs. I have a 1975 & 1973 set of cases on my bench as I am writing this, there are three plugs in each set, one under the clutch hub, one under the tranny and one under the crankcase. If you still can't find them there are two in the cam side of the engine cases and one in the back of the primary side. Hope this helps!

Check the case for cracks at lfter block area, pull the block out and clean real good. These cases will crack closest to cylinders usually starting from block attach hole.Hope this isnt so,but can be repaired and not easilly seen afterwards.

Just curious but if Jesse Stuart built the motor and its been doing this since what the beginning of time? why didn't you bring it back to him back in 1980 or when the problem first started happening?

Ah-hhh, this thread is almost 6 years old.
I would not expect a reply to your question if I were you.

I think Ross had the motor built in NY, when he lived and worked there...
