front forks question

Default front forks question

i have a 1981 sporty xlh.im pretty sure the neck stem size is 7/8".im looking into a springer front end that has a 1" neck stem.is it possible to change the neck cups and bearings to 1"?this will be my first time swapping front ends so any advice is greatly appreciated.thanks in advance.

I do not have the specific technical info that you need, just that this question has come up often on these forums, and that it can easily be done. Best to get the details from some who has the direct experience. Someone ought to be along here sooner or later.
